Bicester Eco Village, Oxfordshire, exemplar phase from the initial detail design and technical delivery phase of a wider urban extension masterplan of 4500 units.
This residential scheme comprises 98 new sustainable homes all designed to comply with the zero carbon nature of the brief. The project delivers a broad range of housing types underpinned by MMC (modern methods of construction) and being forward thinking in developer lead sustainable living.
The proposal responds to the challenging nature of the site and delivers heating and hot water from a central heating plant (CHP) and network. The houses are highly insulated and mechanically controlled ventilation strategies employed throughout.
This project was led and managed by Mark whilst under the employment of PRP Architects. Mark sat on the technology steering group (BEPIT – Bicester Eco town Process Improvement Toolkit) whilst on this project.
Mark has gained invaluable experience from this project in the form of overheating analysis, technological detailed design, integrated sustainable design solutions and MMC collaboration.
